Daytime dates with The Astronomer are a scarce handle, so I packed the schedule for highest excellent instances. In advance of building our way to Malibu, we stopped into Bill’s Burgers in Van Nuys for a hearty bite. From there, we drove even further west and hopped aboard a wine safari at Saddlerock Ranch. Past but not least, we headed to the coast for lunch at Malibu Seafood. Whatta day!
There are quite a few eating alternatives up and down the Pacific Coast Freeway, but we settled on the almost fifty-yr-aged Malibu Seafood for its unfussy environs and claims of expertly fried seafood.
Following waiting in a sizable line and positioning our purchase at the counter, The Astronomer and I settled into an out of doors picnic desk to wait for our meals.
From the “Fresh Grilled Seafood” portion of the menu, The Astronomer chosen the large squid steak ($16.95), which arrived with a choice of two sides he picked the rice pilaf and coleslaw. The squid was without a doubt giant and steak-like, with the grill imparting a delectable smokiness. Though I was expecting a little bit of chewiness, just about every bite was pleasantly tender.
For me, a duo of delectable deep-fried morsels. The shrimp and fries answered the simply call for all which is golden, nicely-seasoned, and crispy ($13.95).
