The Astronomer and I checked out Bar Cafe in Silver Lake through the Thanksgiving vacation whilst my in-legal guidelines have been in town to offer totally free and enthusiastic youngster treatment. Best of all was Chef Rankin’s just take on moules frites, a shallow bowl brimming with plump de-shelled mussels, a dijon emulsion, and curly fries — an current common that the entire world did not know it required.

To end, apple discomfort perdu with brie anglaise ($13). Mmm…

With a title like Bar Cafe, The Astronomer and I weren’t really absolutely sure what to hope when we stepped into the house. But immediately after beverages and snacks were being had, mains and dessert as well, we departed definitely amazed with this awesome and unexpected minor location.
